Success! After-school pick-up and the rest of our afternoon was a success. Ash was in a great mood and enthusiastic to see me. He said that it was a good school day, had fun playing wall ball at lunchtime, and was looking forward to hanging out with each other at home.

For our afternoon pick-me-up, I made smoothies with frozen dark cherries, frozen orange segments, and frozen bananas. It really was refreshing, especially on this hot August day.

We looked through Google Classroom together and he had no homework or missing assignments. I made sure to acknowledge that I was proud of him for being on top of his schoolwork.

Now he’s building stuff with Legos in his room, while I get started on dinner. I’m making chicken burgers on a brioche bun with roasted broccolini on the side. He LOVES broccolini, which has become his new favorite veggie this year. And he also loves the chicken patties I make too.

It’s really turning out to be a nice evening. Hope you’re having a nice day with your kiddo(s) too!
