Some of our friends whose first language isn’t English often ask us how to write an email to their child’s teacher.

Here’s an example of an email Grant wrote to Ash’s English / Language Arts teacher.

Hope it gives you an idea how you can word your email.

Hi Ms. Augustus,

My wife Danni and I are concerned about our son Ash’s progress in English / Language Arts class. We can see in the grade portal that he has a “D+” in English. He fell behind in Math recently and has been making a huge effort to catch up in that subject, and perhaps this has pulled some focus or attention from his E/LA work. Then again, it's hard to tell in the grade portal if his current grade reflects assignments which he has turned in but which haven't been graded yet - something we've seen in other classes before.

Can you give us any guidance on what tasks or assignments Ash needs to complete to bring his grade in English / Language Arts back up to a “B” (or better)?
